So, for the first few months, probably a year or so, I did nothing but sit and feel sorry for myself.

[On Screen Text: Karen PAH Initiative Ambassador]

I couldn't work anymore. And that was truly a big part of my identity at that point. It was very hard. I had to go through denial and being mad and sad.

When I was diagnosed with PAH it was like, ‘All right, what do we need to do to make this work for me because I'm in charge of my own life.’

I needed a new purpose. My purpose wasn't to sit on the couch and not do anything anymore. I needed something to get me busy.

For, things to keep me busy. I look to appreciate little joys, and to actually sit outside and visit with people.

I do yoga a couple times a week to really help keep things in check for me.

You could help other people out. And I think that’s what really woke me up. And I realized hey I could do stuff for other people and make myself feel better.

If you're feeling down or if this is your, newly diagnosed, to talk to somebody who's been in the trenches and knows how you feel.

Some days are good, some days are bad, and some days are your best and you just have to accept what’s in front of you and roll with it that way.

You have to find that new normal and find what's going to be right for you.

Create your plan of attack as to how you are going to proceed and really get done, what you desire.
